From the "Into the Red" book of Nick Mason's, Mark Hale is the driver (or should I say Pilot in that thing!?) You get a CD of about 18 cars that Mr Mason owns    :blues:

Apparantly it was'nt fully on song that day either!!!!!!!

It seems that the ignition kept cutting out/plugs fouling (after they spent four days just trying to fire the thing up in the first place)

I think they abandoned the "In car" recordings because the un-supressed ignition interfeared so badly with the recording equipment (even though it's still listed on the CD)

Awesom sound and it's even better "live"

I was at one of the Coys Historic festivals at Silverstone some years ago and they had that car running, properly, on the full Grand Prix circuit.  Standing at the complex between Bridge and Woodcote you could hear the thing around the entire circuit - every gear change, every blip of the throttle.

Stunning car, woefully unreliable even with the benefit of 50 years of trying to figure the things out, but a stunning sound all the same.  Makes Ferrari V12s sound positively gay by comparison !!  :D
