You ask about long journeys?

Not a problem

Plenty of us have been around the Alps with just an aeroscreen

Your budget should get you a decent well sorted car. Just be patient and one will appear.

Are you based at Marham...there are a few Westys around the area of different ages specs and build stage..

This is my third and always wanted a duratec..after having zetec and before cvh.. but real question is what are you going to do with it..and will the pleasure come from working on it driving it, or a bit of both...

Yes mate I am at marham, would you say the duratec is better than ztec then?

Welcome , you on m3 cutters? Thread on there thinking about buying a westy. I posted on that thread.

You mention being a mechanic so you know what you are doing. A lot to be said about it being reliable though. The higher you go the more stress on everything.

Long journeys are ok I have an aeroscreen so I could be more comfy I know. I need a break after an hour and half as there is nowhere to put my clutch foot.

I don't tow my car and by the end of track day I really really don't want to drive it back....but you do...and you book again. Lol

Yeh mate it’s me, you posted the like to the racing green one and it got me lusting after one. That green one is now sold however.

But im in no rush so just going to wait for a good one to come up for sale I think.

Iv sacked off the idea of spending 30k on a e92m3 or rs3 now. I’m going to spend 15k on a toy and stick the rest as a overpayment on my mortgage. Between a Westfield and an evo now.

Well welcome dude

They are great fun and if you buy well you won't lose a penny of your spends so what's not to like.  Be ready to pounce the good ones go pretty quick.

Shakey I have just read your original post..to see what you are going to use the car for.. mostly weekend some trips and some track days.. to be honest I think you will be fine with any of the engines..all generally good.. just look at overall package and which suits what you are going to do with it most.

To be honest though it is nothing like a Japanese 4x4. So that's the decision you need to make first..

If set on a Westy then look at plenty.. stoneleigh show on soon so you would see loads there and could talk to the most knowledgeable guys and gals in the country..

If it's the messing around with it you like buy something cheaper and then start the upgrades!!

Thanks mate,

tbh, I’m dont mind abit of tinkering but Iv already got one project so don’t want another. Iv never driven an evo either so I’m not sure which I prefer.

My first car car was an ek9 and I loved the way that revved and was light and chuckable, can only imagine a westy is a million times better than this.

Looking at the for sale section and Iv seen this one, I know it’s sold but something like this I would have been all over! Sounds like a great package and a good price.
