Weekend Warrior Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 At present my wheels are 15x7 inch et23 and 108pcd. Ive seen a set 15x7 108pcd but the offset is et 35 , Is there much difference ,will they clear the rear arches on a few wide bodied car ,Any pros or cons .I understand it’s something to do with the rim depth .Just looking for a yes or no answer not links to charts with loads of figures that just twist the mind . Olliebeak Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 My SEW with a live rear axle has 15 " wheels with ET35 no probs with clearance in fact I have got spacers on to make the wheels fill the arch better. 1 Quote

Thanks my rears also have spacers from what I can gather the difference between et 35 and et 23 isn’t that much just wanted to check before I bought Quote
stephenh Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 Your problem might be that the wheels with greater offset will foul the brake callipers, or the outer ends of the wishbones. However if you get some spacers of the correct thickness (10mm might be just about ok) then you should be fine, PROVIDED your studs are long enough to go through the wheel and the spacer, and still leave plenty of thread to have a secure nut to stud contact. I would have thought that a 12 mm difference is quite significant actually. Quote

Ok so the difference n size is 12 mm ,can I tell by looking at the wheels that are on now and the distance to the Calliper and wishbone ? Quote
Kingster Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 Put you old wheels on and measure inwards another 12mm and see if anything fouls. The larger offset will move the whole wheel inboard, so you will have more arch clearance than now not less. 1 Quote

If you've got atleast 15mm clearance now to anything inwards, wishbones etc you would be OK. Bare in mind the wheel will sit 12mm further inside the arch,so might not look as good in the arch. Front arches are more of a issue than rear 1 Quote

CosKev Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 So looking at that pic above to fit the ET35 wheels on the front of your car you would need to put massive spacers on,circa 20mm to stop the tyre touching your cycle wing bracket,or modify your cycle wing bracket 1 Quote
Weekend Warrior Posted March 24, 2018 Author Posted March 24, 2018 Thanks for the advice all of you ,I won’t bother with a different offset I’ll keep looking for another couple of team dynamics pro race 1.2 15’ . Keep your ears open for me . Quote

Must be something different, look at the clearance between tyre and top of his bracket,no way has he got enough space there to run a ET35 wheel! Quote

Kingster Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 Could be. Mine are 195/50 tyres. I think the s2000 cars also run a deeper front offset. Will take a pic tomorrow. 1 Quote
