I can tell you that dropping your phone into a pint of beer definitely doesn't work, as a mate found out many years ago, sat having a drink at the pub at the end of the Donnington start/finish straight, when an old F1 car (Formula Boss) came ploughing into the barriers not far from the window he sitting at

I can never be sure my luggage will reach its intended destination!  Just as well nobody nicked the case.
