Baker E Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 Well there you go that’s why I’m asking the question because I have no idea about an engine, but I’ve learnt something today. Do you have any idea of what might be causing our problem with the jerking Quote

Do you have any idea of what might be causing our problem with the jerking The OP''s car on throttle bodies with a aftermarket ECU probably just needs a tweak of the map if all the other stuff (plugs/leads/sensors)are OK. Presuming yours is on the standard Ford ECU etc? What air filter is it running? Pics of the engine will help if you are not sure about engines Quote
CosKev Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 It could well just be the open filter causing it,not all ECU''s can alter the timing/fueling to compensate as Ford designed it with a more restrictive paper filter in airbox designed for the engine. I'm no Zetec expert though,I've seen issues like above on other cars though threw fitting 'performance' air filters Quote
