Thrustyjust Posted February 10, 2018 Author Posted February 10, 2018 Well, we went, we froze and we saw ants scurrying across some green stuff . Must admit heights arent my thing, as to why I have a car I toy with inches of tarmac, but to look down on the top of the posts was quite daunting. Controversial photo is here............... It didnt end up in a fight especially as Mrs TJ is suffering really badly with tonsilitus, meant we had to take it easy with her today. Was a fantastic experience, that no TV can show or feel. Sweet Chariot was just unbelievable and 82 thousand people all getting out at the end was very long winded. It was bitter today and luckily the rain was blown into the other end of the stands, but I was shaking with cold by the second half. That was with layers. Another one ticked off for Mrs TJ's 50th celebrations. She is off to Iceland tomorrow with Ms TJ for 4 days . Oh how I wished the garage was warm and my discs had appeared 1 1 Quote
GaryD1971 Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Nice one Justin! I watched it on TV. In the warm. With a steaming hot cup of tea! Joking aside, would love to have seen it live. Good game, good result and I would imagine it was a great atmosphere. Quote
Wilfman Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 Good to see a balance in the household however I suspect there would have been bigger smiles on the other side if the TMO had not made the mistake of disallowing that Welsh try. Quote
GaryD1971 Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 That was not a decision I would like to have been faced with. I too, thought it was a try. Was it put down by a welsh hand first? Yes. Was it under control? Questionable. If it were England faced with that decision, we would be feeling pretty sore about it today. Good game though! Quote

Very awkward one that , in which I thought it was a try too, but the way the ball came into the area, I thought was a knock on, but being it was a million miles away from us and even though the screen was in front of us, my eyes were slow from being partially frozen, its one to watch later today and see it better. Gary, Mrs TJ wanted it as part of her 50th celebrations and I wouldnt have missed it for the world. But I would have been much happier being a stand lower and have a steaming cup of tea at half time. I dont know how these people drink so much beer to the point of being hammered and some how manage to get down the 300 or so steps back to ground. One bloke next to us , when we were heading out , was using everyone around him to stay upright and couldnt put one foot infront of the other. I was not going to get down 300 steps and back up 300 steps for a cuppa. Will light the fire and have my scottish mate over later for their game with a strong brew. Shame the irish won with such a points difference. We watched that waiting for the England game and good to see the Italians get some points near the end. I think the six nations is a great sport game and does enthuse for the spring coming in too. 1 Quote
GaryD1971 Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 Absolutely Justin. I think the enjoyment of the game would be spoilt for me if I a) couldn’t stand up unaided, b) couldn’t remember much of it and c) woke up the next day with a massive hangover! Would be nice to have access to hot tea in the upper tiers though. I do agree that the six nations is a fantastic tournament, which up until recently I’ve not had too much interest in. I guess I’ve been so disappointed with the prima donnas in the football that I need something else to focus on that doesn’t have 4 wheels. And, for me, the spring can’t come soon enough... 1 Quote
