Rory's Dad Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 So what are you going to do differently? Me? I'm going to try to get my sugar consumption right down. I have type 2 diabetes and, well, Christmas pudding and brandy butter has been great to eat but I suffer afterwards . Plus all the other things... like getting my Westy back on the road! Quote
DonPeffers Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 Totally agree about getting the sugar down. I haven't bought sugar for over 30 years but shocked by amounts manufacturers put in foods ie . a small Christmas pud had 42g of sugar. 4g equals one teaspoon of sugar. Who wants 10 and a half teaspoons of sugar? Without being too alarmist you might consider a blood sugar monitor and some are reasonable cost. Two of my colleagues died from diabetes but first suffered foot amputations and kidney failure so care needed as I am sure you are aware. I am definitely going to try to do more walking in the New Year as fitness and mobility need improving. Have a great 2018 when it arrives. Quote

I didn't realise until recently that the trouble in the Caribbean back in the day was started by the scramble to commandeer a tropical paradise, cut down the forest and grow sugar cane. 1 Quote
