Head torch recommendation

I'd like to buy a good head torch - heaps of light, ability to focus - you know the kind of thing. What would you recommend??

I like the led lenser torches at work however the last head torch i bought was one of these as the lenser was out of stock

It's very comfortable and has good focus id say it actually has a better battery life than advertised. The led lenser equivalent output is 50% more expensive (but is a bit better well made and if a warranty claim is needed they're great to deal with)

Great torches and value. We have one and know many Mountaineers and Walkers who use them.

Had a few Petzl's and would highly rate these as well. Also Black Diamond.

Had several other 'cheaper' torches and all have not stood up to regular use/longevity. Been using head torches out in't'hills (and for DIY) for 30 odd years, definitely get a waterproof one with either a wide and narrow bulb or preferably with focusing ability. Also beware of ones that can only do 'bright', sometimes a gentler glow is preferable.

very well made and much better light than the cheap efforts off ebay

a lot of those have claimed more lumens but the lens is a significant part which are superb on the ledlenser stuff

they angle up and down and yes they focus too - battery or rechargeable options

Nitecore make some excellent head torches. I got this one for night time trekking on my way to Machu Picchu.. http://flashlight.nitecore.com/ILLUMINATION/H/HC90/ they do other cheaper versions too if you don't need something as bright. (this thing is unbelievably bright!)

I bought one from amazon a couple of years ago and it's been really good. not this one but very much like it. It gives loads of light the charge seems to last ages and it's easy to direct where you want the light.
