Yes it should have been August but the previous owner let it slip, due to buying a new car and SORN'ing this one. Quote
Mooch Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 My local Kwik Fit gets my business every time. I suppose it is pot luck as to the knowledge and capabilities of the individual tester but I've found Nick at the Malmesbury branch helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Time it right and the test is just £25 if you book online. He does the 3 daily drives in the family as well as the Westfield, which he understands when it comes to things like headlight alignment and track day tyres which don't wear like normal road tires. He also showed practical common sense when testing our rebuilt MGB GT for the fist time in many years - it struggled on emissions due to an old and grungy carb but he helped get it through, letting me take it for a cleansing blat, which did the trick. ETA: he wasn't even phased when it came to registering my neighbours newly built ¼ scale live steam traction engine! - sort of like IVA but done at an MOT station. There can't be many testers who've had to deal with that one! Quote
