Flared side panels - Benefits

Hi All,

I’ve just started the winter strip down of my sprint car. I’m considering going to flared carbon side panels. 

 

What at are the benefits of these bar the cooling benefit. Are there any performance benefits?

Nope.... apart from a small weight saving and a hole in your wallet!

Easier access to the engine bay for service work, if you mount them in a way that allows quick/easy removal.

But it’s really all about the cooling.

All about the ease of access for me, tbh I've see zero cooling benefit

As the guys have said above...easy access to the engine for service work....and they look cool...  all the best motors have them...
