At the angle it engages I wouldn't want more than 1000kg on it. Obviously I cannot put a figure on it but your safety estimate of <1000kg per side is a hefty vehicle. The cylinders remain present too of course.
Sparkymart
The company that makes these is ranger who are owned by bendpak who specialises in commercial lifts so I doubt they would sell an unsafe lift
keirik
I have a quickjack (Or pair of them really) and they do have a mechanical lock on them, in fact that is the main thing that holds the car, the hydraulic unit isn't in use at all other than to lift and lower. The problem is I don't think you can use it on a weary ad it needs clear jacking points and the tub gets in the way. Been in touch with Westfield and they feel the same. If anyone can work out jacking points please let me know! They were perfect for my previous car (dax cobra ) as the chassis is exposed. Sparkymart
I went to autosport in January with the money in my pocket to buy a set but after I had a good look at it I was also concerned about the lifting points and the fact that it looked like they would sit under the car at a slight angle so I decided to not get then so I'm still looking for a way to get under the car to work
