Self build greenhouse or plans

Even taking into account the diversity of WSCC members I suspect this is an optimistic post...

I’d like to build a new greenhouse in my garden. Does anyone know of a good source of plans or designs? Point me to the equivalent club!?

I designed and built a 4m x 4m shed a few years back. That was fairly straight forward, but I’m sure there is more to it with all the glazing and weight of the glass. Probably as different as me building my full factory kit car vs donor car route.

Unless you are desperate to build one, it is easier to buy a second hand one. I don't know where you live but my Fil has one that he has been trying to get rid of and only needs an odd pane of glass or two.

Hi Jeff.  Interesting... that is the donor greenhouse route! 

The greenhouse is going to be fairly central in our garden and we want one which brings some character, not just functional. Looking at a few of the companies that advertise in the the garden magazines the prices seem sky high. I will investigate the 2nd hand market, as maybe I can find most of what I would need that way.

Alot of the new ones ive see  cone with polycarbonate/plastic weight is not really an issue. 

Just dont do what i did a few yrs back and build one using corrugated sheet. The damn stuff had uv filter coatings and nothing grew!
