So, 5 months after Easter Chaos.......

The thought of having a second dog to make a friend for Rosie , is now 5 months later down the line now. We started with this.

And now Henry looks like this

From being told what he is as a breed to what we have, someone needs to go to confession, but by popular decision , he is a Patterdale. He is taller than Rosie the border now and although playtime seems to involve a lot of white teeth and growling, they do play well together. He is a hoover and will eat anything, including the tortoises lettuce. The gardens trashed, we have found Australia in one hole he has dug, The yellow rose is just recovering for the game ' bite the flowers off !' Bushes have become stripped and sticks to chew.

Would we have another ? Absolutely not, the latest wife said, never again. He was hard work and is better off the lead than Rosie, but we think she is still in protection mode when they go on walks, as still her baby.

Must admit to having a look at blue Whippets though.......................;)

what a great looking dog.

We're on the same journey with Stanley our 5 month old Jack Russell.  Here he is with his favorite Dick Emery quote:

This is Rosie and the remnants of 2 dogs toys, which cost a tenner, that lasted approximately 3 minutes from toy to death

Seeing pics of these cute pups brings back good memories. Our lab Oscar passed 13 last week and is really just starting to show his age. I really can't imagine the house without him in it.

My neighbour lost his wife a couple of weeks ago at the age of 63 from the big C  and he has a black Lab called Murphy. He is 14 now and is really wobbly on the back legs with arthritis. We are obviously helping our neighbour through his sad times and also we are trying to get him more involved with our dogs, not knowing when Murph will be leave him too. All wrong timing for Chris, sadly. He has no family locally , which doesnt help, but we will keep him occupied with our 2 dogs. Its amazing how they know something isnt quite right and get involved to try and sort things out in the dog way. When the dogs go away overnight with my daughter , to her friends , the house does seem eerily quiet and dont think I would ever want that around my home.

But saying that shhhhhhhhh................ he's asleep ..........

Oh and the replacement toys, lasted , from shop counter, to being taken back , 15 minutes today :d. Wife asked the shop girl if they were terrier proof and allegedly they were............ she was pretty gobsmacked to see it back so quick, dismembered. Henry has even destroyed a rubber Kong this week..........We may cover some house bricks in peamutt butter and let them try those for size :d

I was going to suggest Kong, as they're the only toys that Stan doesn't shred, but you've been there...!

We had a kong which you put treats inside. Henry chewed the end off it .............. We have a new one now, not a Kong one, so, lets see how long this one lasts.
