Jonsey Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Hi , looking for wide track upper and lower front arms o/s only required but would consider complete front set for a 2014 westfield and steering rack, if not available and have to buy new is there any difference between west field parts and rally design parts Appart from the price ? Thanks in advance .
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 You can't mix the two wide tracks, the arms are physically quite different. Personally, I'd steer clear of the RD widetrack kit, too. They do many excellent products. And then they do that widetrack.
Jonsey Posted September 12, 2017 Author Posted September 12, 2017 Thanks for the reply, when you say can't mix do you mean west field on one side and rd on the other ?
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 All or nothing. So all Westfield wide track, or all Rally Design wide track, or all Siltech widetrack for that matter. They areant standard parts, so dimensions and proportions and even material specifications are just not standardised across any of them.
Kingster Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Also - there's different versions of Westfield's widetrack - so if you need to just replace one side, you need to know exactly which type you have in order to match them. In terms of difference between the brands - it is generally accepted that Siltech are the top end and RD the bottom. Some have mentioned that the 'fit' of RD one's can be a bit off - but I guess they are a fraction of the price of the latest WF versions. Also bear in mind what length shocks you have - as different sets of wishbones can use different length shocks.
Terry Everall Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 The Siltech stuff can accommodate different shock lengths and has 3 different widths available I believe
