DonPeffers Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Big congratulations to Britain's Chris Froome on yesterday winning the 3 week Tour of Spain (La Vuelta) bike race. Froome this year also won the Tour de France 3 week cycle race (in July) for the fourth time and La Vuelta started only 4 weeks after TDF finished. He becomes only the third rider ever to win both tours in the same year (last done in 1978). He is the only rider ever to win both in the same year since La Vuelta moved from its April start date to mid August. Respect. 2 Quote
jeff oakley Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 What I cannot understand is why Bradley Wiggins got a knighthood and yet Chris Froome hasn't. If any man has broken records and is 100% clean with no special packages being delivered, he should be treated as one of our best and rewarded equally. He really is a super athelete Quote
Kingster Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Yer Wiggins was the first Brit to win the TDF so that's probably why such a big thing was made of it and the knighthood followed. Have to agree though that Froome is certainly right up there as one of the best ever and deserves every accolade possible for his achievements. Quote
wilsonch Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Your right it's a fantastic achievement by an incredible athlete. However Froome is one thing that wiggins isn't......BORING. Quote
