Hi Jim, the car is great, made a few changes, moved the front indicators to below the lights and upgraded to LEDs all round but nothing drastic...yet

Excellent  :t-up: I'm glad you are pleased with it. What quick release and wheel did you fit?

Jim, I got an NRG quick release boss and a momo race steering wheel, very happy with both

Wind deflectors now fitted, I used some 5mm tubing from B&Q which I split and fitted to protect the gel coat

I made these from 5mm thick acrylic sheet. The design came from the Blatchat forum years ago.

Bit of a thread revival here.

Has anyone still on here made their own wind deflectors? From this pattern?

Where did you get the hinges from?

Did that offer a substantial saving over the ~£150 for those off eBay or off Westfield themselves.

Cheers

Only half answering your question but I bought some wind deflectors, didn't like the hinges, so bought some genuine ones from the westfield shop.

Hi, I made my own from 5mm polycarbonte which I sourced from work. The lift off hinges I got from Amazon for £12 and just used the male half to slot into the windscreen. I didn't use the template but made my own with cardboard and some wire inserted inside it. This allowed me to set the angles I wanted. I used the standard Westfield shape as a reference and worked from that. Then replicated the shape with a right angle bender. They definitely make a difference to buffeting.IMG_20240707_103123_HDR.thumb.jpg.44ec5155f5645cbd31b07491ed913c68.jpgIMG_20240707_103139_HDR.thumb.jpg.ee2b74c484a1267077bce706f4c46520.jpg

I presume you meant you bought the entire deflector from Westfield - I can't find just the hinges in their part shop...
