Its a very similar spec and age to mine. I've had it for just over 2 years, been to scotland , cornwall , wales and never needed to spend anything more than service items. It will be a great value intro to the marque.

As previously advised check chassis and bodyvwork and engine condition. Buy some oil spy papers and test engine oil, they will show up major engine issues.

The kit bodywork is no longer available and is incompatible with the current generation ( so if you wanted to swap the bonnet for example, it would be scuttle, bonnet nose minimum and i'm told not a great fit to the tub ) so major damage either needs to be fixable, livable with if your not a perfectionist or i would suggest walk away as body parts are very expensive any money you wont re-coup should you decide to sell.

If you find yourself wanting more power or major spec changes etc.. there will always be someone else wanting  a low cost introduction and most at this price dont stay for sale for long, or you can upgrade , but significant upgrades ( engine, bodywork) will cost more than buying another car ( as im am discovering)

Good luck !

@Luckky If you saw the mint SEiW I paid £7500 for a few months ago, you'd be thinking that red one is only worth £4000 (and what's with the cut up toolbox screwed to the bonnet - there's a dozen ways that could have been done better).

I had been looking for the best I could afford (according to my 'financial advisor') for over a year, and bought ours this April when the weather was foul and no-one else was up for looking for Westfields, especially traveling some distance to view (went over to Belfast for ours).

So as everyone has said above, shop around and don't be in a hurry, and if you wait for the winter and put a few more pennies aside you'll get a nicer car that'll keep it's value. And you'll be ready for that first nice day in spring, and enjoy the whole summer.
