Excuse the off topic subject....

my old epson style a3 inkjet is coming ot the end of its life

I am looking at an economical way of printing colour a3 and a4 posters (also needs to print down to a6) for work

I believe the general concensous is colour laser is the way to go for economy but dont have anyone local to discuss options or check out print quality on laser printers

Needs to ideally be able to print edge to edge and print high quality images

Our stationer has recommended this http://www8.hp.com/uk/en/products/printers/product-detail.html?oid=3974358&jumpid=reg_r1002_uken_c-001_title_r0001#!tab=features

but I dont really have too much confidence in their ability to recoment as they sell a miliion and one products

I have been to our local PC World and Staples Office but they were as about as much use as a chocolate teapot

Do we have any specialists in this area?

Thanks

Clark

Hi Clark,

I threw away my HP A4 colour laser and replaced it with an HP inkjet because the laser cartridges were over £200 a set of 4.   The printer worked fine but the cartridges were too expensive. check the cartridge yield (no of pages)  against the price.  I think lasers in most cases maybe cheaper per page, but it expensive  when you buy cartridges.. it really depends how many pages you print

It would be worth checking the cartridge costs before you make a purchase.. but I guess you know that already

If you decide to buy HP , give me a shout I'll give you my HP friends and family login.  it might be a bit cheaper..the care packs are much cheaper.

As Trev said, it's the reason the club ditched the HP colour laser printer for the MemSec to use once the OS driver support ran out, £212 for four cartridges to refill it was ludicrous.  Check the cartridge costs and print quantity per cartridge.

You might have to go for an older laser printer for the costs of replacement cartridges to be cheaper. Mind not that old if you won't be able to get them.

Just going to order some at £13 free delivery for 4 refills, granted none OEM for Dell laser but how cheap is that!
