Mark (smokey mow) Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 As above. Before I go out and buy one from ebay do any of the Mazda SDV builders have a spare 1.6 Sump Pan and oil pickup pipe they don't need? Thanks

I've had a weep from one of the welds for the last couple of years that just seems to be getting worse. I've worked out that as the 1.6 engine is shorter than the 1.8 i can still fit it under the bonnet with the taller 52mm RS2000 engine mounts which means I then don't have to cut the sump. The downside is it'll raise the CofG slightly but i fugure it wont matter that much as a road car.
darve Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 Worth it for the comfort and practicality of an unmodified sump

Captain Colonial Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 We all know how say it is to take your engine out, don't we Mark?

Im sure you're probably hoping too see if i can beat my own record but for this job I'll be keeping the engine in. Luckily its a quite easy job to swap from under the car.
AdamR Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Pretty sure I have one Mark but struggling for time to dig it out - how urgent is it? Cheers! 1
