Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Fimber Halt is a great little stop if you want toilets and a cup tea. Its all in woodland and everyone is always friendly. There is a little cafe but it does not do hot food. It has a great supply of cakes and pies etc. Plenty of free parking and if you like to see motorbikes then there are usually plenty to see. It is the site of the old railway and across the road there is the Yorkshire Wolds Railway. They have a 300' length of track and they often run a diesel locomotive and it gives cab rides for £1.50. Here is a link about the place with some nice history. http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/s/sledmere_fimber/ http://www.visithullandeastyorkshire.com/Driffield-Yorkshire-Wolds-Railway/details/?dms=3&venue=2052480 1 Quote
