Phil J Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 I want to fit a concentric clutch to my type 9 gearbox behind a crossflow. They look similar in pictures and specification but vary in price greatly and probably quality. I don't mind paying for quality but from your practical experience which ones are easy to fit and work reliably and any I should avoid? TIA Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 I've used the concentric set up from Burtons before now, not the cheapest possibly, but simple and nicely made, also spare seals etc are available. One thing I would say with it though, make sure you fit a pedal stop, as excess travel on the slave cylinder can damage the seals. Mind you, you should have a stop anyway! This is the one I mean, clicky Note, you'll also need a mounting plate and appropriately sized spacer. Plus hoses, release bearing etc. Once correctly set up though, and with stop adjusted, mine was ultra reliable in all the years I had the car. Just needed a hydraulic fluid change every few years or so. Quote
