Vorley Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Hi everyone, Having owned a westie 10 years ago, the itch became to great again so picked up a Yellow SeiW '96' 2ltr today. Chuffed to bits, but she's going to need a few bits done to be mint. 1st question/recommendation: who knows of a good mechanic familiar with westies near to Chalfont St Peter Buckinghamshire? 2nd - any local meet ups? cheers for now Tom Quote

Simon Marks - North Oxfordshire AO Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Hi, welcome back into the Westfield fold. Trackday Toyz at Uffington near Faringdon in Oxfordshire, though not absolutely on your doorstep are not a million miles away. They did a few pre IVA items for me on my XI - good job done and reasonably priced. Steve and Lee run the business and are very kit car minded. Hemsley Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Welcome back Tom. Rickwood Cars in Chorleywood are very good with Sevens and Classics. I used them previously when I had a '72 Lotus Elan and they were superb. Springwood Garage, Heronsgate Road, Chorleywood WD3 5BN. 01923 283675 As for local meetings, I've been heading up to the Herts Beds & Bucks meetings near Leighton Buzzard. Almost equally close would be the Thames Valley area, or the North London area, but so far I've not managed to get along to their meetings. Martin. 1 Quote

In fact we positively encourage it, with combined events and so on. Though it does always tickle me when you arrive early at a meet, before too many have arrived, and find the Area Organiser to member ratio 1:1 or better! (We do like getting out and about too!!) 1 Quote
B.RAD Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Welcome! I grew up in Chalfont St Peter. As mentioned earlier, the HBB meet is this Thursday at the Grove Lock in Leighton Buzzard, come along and have a chat. As for garage recommendations, there really is only one place to go - MH Autos in Milton Keynes. Martin is a member on here, a really great bloke who knows Westfields inside out and he competes in his own too. He'll be at the meet on Thursday so you can meet him, ask whatever questions you like and get booked in! (No I'm not on commission! He's basically rebuilt mine for me & is my go to guy for everything, as well as being a great mate. He was the 2015 novice champ and helped me to become the 2016 novice champ, so pedigree is assured!!). Hope to meet you and see your car soon All the best Barny 3 Quote
