quick release

hi, i know this has been done to death as i have searched through lots of old threads!!! but in short is there a quick release that will fit the standard westfield astrali boss?

i want to change the steering wheel and bring it closer to me with the option of removing it, without the extra cost of another boss!

I think if you want to change the wheel and go quick release then using the IVA Westfield boss is going to make life very difficult. The QR bosses look to be Momo/OPM etc compatible and most new desirable wheels also use these mount patterns.  I don't think there are a lot of wheels to fit the standard boss.

 

I changed my standard wheel for a Momo and just changed the boss and added a spacer to bring it closer . Must admit it's one of my best upgrades I've done. I did consider QR but decided not to bother in the end I know there is a perceived security advantage but decided that having to remove the wheel or it could be stolen easily made it less secure.

It's been a couple of years but the descriptions are still in my ebay history -

'BOSS KIT HUB KK154X FIT MOMO OMP SPARCO MOUNTNEY CLASSIC STEERING WHEEL NEW' is the description for the boss

'30mm 1.1" INCH SPACER OMP MOMO SPARCO MOUNTNEY STEERING WHEELS AND BOSS KITS' was the description for the spacer

I also purchased 'HPI RACING BAJA 5T BLACK 94763 BUTTON HEAD SCREW M5X45MM (HEX SOCKET/6PCS)'

I then purchased a momo type 26 from playskool,  

 

I did have to trim the boss down a little as there was a flange on the back that fouled the dash.

Thanks Rhett the boss was spot on, with no mods! I know the small wheel is not to everybody taste but it's the same as I had on my last one and loved it 'driving with a flick of the wrist' lol,

Dave i like to take my motoring to the extreme! the only way to get the true Westfield experience is to only wear your trainers and sunglasses!!!
