Just because you drive a fake, don't assume they all are

It's a fact of life that more 1.0l Red Fiesta's have been made to look like STs than just about any other car has ever been mimic'd (not something Westies suffer from) but just because you have stuck a spoiler on your Mum's shopping cart and a badge on the boot, don't assume every other red ST on the road is the same.

Am I a bad person for handing a fake ST's its a$$ in a bag tonight..? Not so much speed but wagging my bum at them on a few roundabouts...

To be honest it was a good copy - except for the rear drums and the fact the two Neds in it would have had to pay the moon for the insurance.

Note to self: Grow up ...

Stuff like that makes driving fun. A bit of childishness now and again is very life affirming. I'm always telling myself to grow up!

A lot of the lads (and lasses) down my way have these ridiculous sounding dump valves fitted , they race up along side you and there car makes this funny sounding sneezing sound  9 time's out of 10 you find a couple of lads peering at you from under there baseball caps with peaks  that are so large you could land a helicopter on them in car's with a ridiculous amount of Camber an tyre's  that would probably fit better on a push bike rim than a car rim

I normally just ignore them but occasionally I'll just drop a cog  and hit the loud pedal  just so they can hear what a car should sound like as I take off .

I too am old enough to know better and refuse to stop putting down stupid teenagers in tarted up Saxos and the like at traffic lights and wide roundabouts, showing them what proper acceleration and exhaust noise should be.  I know that 3200 rpm in second is the correct noise and level to set off some car alarms in my neighbourhood.  I'm not above blipping the throttle at traffic lights if someone walks by close to the exhaust, blasting their shins and making them jump.  I always gear down in tunnels to increase the sound level.

Most of the time, I'm a very considerate and careful driver.  But I'm happy to say I can still be an immature jerk at my advanced age. :p

My little fiesta ST3 was my favourite tintop car for a long long time. It went back off lease at the end of March and was replaced with a golf gti. The golf is fine. Lovely solid well made reasonably quick. But in the words of James may just doesn't give me "the fizz" yes it wasn't the best made, stereo was unimaginably complicated and the ride was very firm. But when you wanted to act like a knob and wring it's nuts on a twisty the fiesta was epic.

I've even contemplated giving the golf to the Mrs and buying another fez. So carry on annoying the chavs and enjoy it:t-up:
