Spent the evening at Arlington watching the stock car racing, cracking stuff. Huge pile up in the first race took out half of the cars, but still, some great racing in the remaining rounds...

Hero of the night did at least 5 more laps after rear left upright was literally dangling off! :d

If you enjoyed that you might enjoy this film from 1976. I used to help a guy who ran bangers and it was great cheap fun, but looking back at the stuff we sent to scrap yards then was so wasteful

I used to go to watch the Banger racing about then.   Don't think they do the Death Destruction Derby anymore, probably to do with Health & Safety.     Dad's favourite car was the BMC Farina as well, he went through the whole range of them, best one was the A55 Cambridge painted lavender with a black roof and had leather seats, we toured all Europe in one car or another with no breakdowns, it's all to do with correct  maintainance.   Arena Essex is just a few miles from me and you reminded me to take the grandson to watch the racing there this summer.
