Yes, I'm very excited, it has been a dream to do this for a long time. Ok so thats now red, blue, black, yellow, orange, gulf and painted   but they do all look great and yes is very personal.

With the electric blue could you not go down the Subaru rally colours with a yellow strip?

I went for the R888 tyres but after which did I notice some chat about them not being the best, I need to look into it more and catch up on BugMans thread. But for me stickier the better, especially with the power to weight this thing will have.

Been told by a few people in the club the R8888's take a bit to warm up B4 they are nice an sticky, so given the weather we live in it might be a contributory factor.

I'd take advice from the forum/club as I have never had a car of this caliber/performance so I'm sticking to the info I've been given.

Also a big factor in my mind is what you intend to do with the car, or at least in my case the initial idea is NOT track focused, but my local group assures me that's the normal first idea.  The more you ask, the better informed you are in my book.

Be interested if you were the bloke before moe or just after,, mine is No.24 simon at WF has told me?

I'm getting to sound like an old record, but any time you're at the factory, take as many detail photos of in build cars as you can, they will be invaluable

My observations with the R888r  so far. Yes when cold they aren't as grippy, a tail out moment on Sunday in 3rd gear confirmed it. However they warm up a lot better than the old r888 and you don't need to be weaving about like a loony to get temp into them just driving around for 15 minutes or so and they are nice and warm. In the dry they are excellent. Yes with the ecoboost you can light them up if you are heavy footed but with some reasonable control and throttle modulation they grip fantastically well. The front end just bites and turns in with no understeer at all.

I haven't driven in heavy rain yet but have been out in damp conditions and again they coped fine. It's only more in a downpour and standing water where the 888 has suffered in the past. I have had reports from other kit owners who've said the r888r is a lot better in standing water than the 888. Time will tell when I get a soaking I suppose.

On tyres, I think we covered it in bugman's thread already but R1Rs may be a good compromise if you want something a little more road-friendly, whilst still being sticky enough.

I want use it for pretty much everything from the commute to work (all contry lanes if i want it to be) to track days and maybe a hill climb or two cash allowing.

Until I get a good feel for its limits, and mine, its going to be stricktly dry runs.  Good to know about the need to warm them up, Ive gone for the racing brakes do they have similar issues?

BugMan, im not sure wherre I am inthe list but Simon told me its a 12 week lead time so I guess your ahead. I need to find out if there are any items drawing these times out.
