Hi folks, new member just signed up so be gentle with me!  I've just ordered an FW kit for collection in mid July. To say I am excited is an understatement, I'm like a kid before Christmas but I am also a little terrified as to what I have let myself in for. I have been reading everyone else's build threads which are full of useful stuff. I am sure I will have lots of questions so will get a build thread started in due course.  Thank you for all the help in advance!

Are there any meets local to me, I am based in the North West, it would be great to see some more cars in real life. I am also going to be at the Silverstone Classic so am looking forward to seeing plenty of cars then for inspiration.

Welcome Homer, I'm sure your journey will be great. Asyou've already found out previous build threads are a great resource and the wider forum and collective knowledge can usually provide suggestions when things look grim....

There will be quite a few at Silverstone don't be afraid to ask questions.

:ww: from sunny Somerset. I'm part way through building mine, the excitement is a long term thing!

You've let yourself in for a great experience IMHO. You're already taking the right steps (along with buying a Westfield!), by joining the WSCC and posting on this forum, it's a great, friendly resource.

Been said before, but when you're at the factory take as many photos as you can, you'll be surprised what you can glean from them when you start scratching your head!

Enjoy the build.

Welcome from Yorkshire, no doubt someone from the Lancashire area will be along soon.

Maybe a bit short notice, but there's a meeting tomorrow night at The Bay Horse, Skipton BD20 9HB with the Lancashire and Manchester areas, and me from Yorkshire.

Thanks everyone, appreciate the welcome. It's a shame but I am working away this week or Skipton would have been a nice drive from mine.

The car is an early 40th present to myself, surprisingly the boss was wholly supportive and told me to go for it!  Hoping to have it done for my 50th!

I popped my track day cherry last week and loved every minute of it so can't wait to get the Westy on a track. That said it will be very much a road car that will do some track days rather than an out and out track car, but I've gone for a few things like the lsd and MSA roll bar with track days in mind.

A Lancashire welcome to you Homer, you will be made very welcome at the Lanc's or Manc's meet, pop down and introduce yourself.

:ww: Arron. Pleased to have you on board. As others have said, this is the place to be and you won't be disappointed in joining your local area meets. Good luck with the build...

Thanks everyone. Steve, where and when do you meet?  Apologies if that is already on the site somewhere, it's all new to me.
