S2T Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Just been perusing the 2017 regs. I am sure there is a logical reason but why is 1800cc still used as a cut off for most of the Classes. To my knowledge it is quite sometime since the factory produced cars with engines less than 1800cc with 2 litre being the recent common engine configuration. Also why are BEC's just divided into 2 engine classes above and below 1150cc, it doesnt seem encouraging when in the 1150cc category a standard busa 1300cc at 185hp could be up against 1400cc 250hp or a 350hp turbo busa. I maybe missing something however I m just curious Quote
Onliest Smeg David Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 1800 has been kept afaik as there's still a fair number of us about historically (even if not all competing) even if not a standard factory product. Quote
Terry Everall Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 the use of 1700cc split or the 1800cc one we use has been debated several times and the SSOT members have differing views. Most clubs organising events use 1700cc but the Zetecs would then have to move class Quote
