Andrew (Fat_chap) Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Hi All, Just been to pick up my first Westfield - wanted a 7 style car for years and had eventually saved up enough to get one! Drove it all the way back from Chester to the North East without too many problems. The only thing that did happen was after I filled up (with V-power as recommended) the car seemed to develop a misfire which was worse on half throttle (caused the car to stall initially) but seemed to be alright if i held it at cruising speed. Slightly noticeable at full throttle, but not to the point where it cuts out. Any pointers? Going to get it serviced soon anyway, just for piece of mind. Looking forward to meet-ups and drives in the - hopefully - sunny summer! Andrew Quote
CosKev Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Welcome to kit car ownership What engine/ECU etc is in the car? Will help people diagnose the issue A link to the for sale advert is probably the easiest way for people to see the spec Quote
Andrew (Fat_chap) Posted May 3, 2017 Author Posted May 3, 2017 Its a 2 Litre Red top, programmable ECU, with fuel injection, not sure of the actual spec for the ECU but it came with a floppy disk so might have to invest in a newer one. Swindon race tuned. Its running High lift cams and according to the dyno readout is getting 184BHP. It seems to be running extremely rich on fuel so going to take it to my local mapping specialist to get that sorted. Can't seem to link to the advert, it's on Ebay and seems to only link to the 'won it' page. Quote
Kingster Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Welcome Andrew I will add you to the local mailing list and let you know when we are next out. We get out regularly and set off near the Silverlink area not far from tyne tunnel most dry Sunday mornings. Meet up soon! oh and post pictures! Quote
CosKev Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 A good map will hopefully sort it,use someone that knows the tuned XE would be my advice Quote
Andy Banks Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 My favourite diagnosis which one day might actually be true for others... I had exactly the same experience and it was a loose and therefore misaligned Throttle Position Sensor. As said above a good tune up should resolve the niggles in any case. by the way. Quote

Remember we all like photos Yeah, it's funny, ten years or so back, the NE was a really busy and vibrant area, then as things do, it quitened down a wee bit, fantastic to see it really getting back up again, numbers wise, and most importantly, activities wise. And oh yes, we so like photos, we rebuilt the whole Boardroom, just to make it easier to upload them! Quote
DELETE ME Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 and enjoy your time here and out in your new Westfield Quote
