Hi everyone.

Long time browser hoping that in 2017 i could be in a position to get myself a Westfield.

So a good friend in 2012 built a Tiger Avon which i took out most weekend, at the time it was me at and the dog!

I have been busy with finishing the decorating off on a build we took on, and the arrival of NickBW junior... life slowed down.  Hes now approaching 2yro and before my wife says she wants another, i want to get myself a Westfield.  Me and NickBW Junior need some fun!

Budget is around £6,000 ish, i could stretch if the right one came along.

Just wanted to say hello and to excuse myself for all the basic questions which i know i will be posting!

Although my profile says in in Colchester (i cant edit it for some reason) i am in Ingatestone by chelmsford!

Hi Nick,

Hope you're feeling a bit better today!

If you could spare the time, it would be worth having a day at the National Kit Car Show at Stoneleigh at the end of the month, where you can look over countless variants in the Westfield area and there will almost certainly be a few with "For Sale" on the windscreen.

I am in Margaretting, so come next months meet you could always jump in with me, assuming you have a helmet!

Welcome - see you are already on the slippery slope of "stretching your budget" - I fell victim to that one too

Welcome Nick, ditto what Kevin said, Stoneleigh will give you the biggest selection of Westfields to compare and contrast that you'll ever get in one place, along with their owners, to quiz!

Deosnt even matter if you intend to buy there and then, you'll just get a fantastic chance to soak in all the differences and options, and get a real feel for what the cars should be like when it comes to the nitty gritty.

Thanks chaps.

Googling National Kit Car Show at Stoneleigh right now.

Thanks Kevin, Not feeling on top form but I am back in the office! How was the meet Sunday? Perfect weather for it!

Welcome to the madhouse. It is feasible to get a car for that money, but always blow the man maths when car buying. Have a blast in Kevins for inspiration and the noise of a mighty crossflow :silver-westy:

We had a good run Nick, with breakfast overlooking the Heybridge Basin.

Let's hope Sunday's weather is a sign of things to come!

I will be trying to arrange an evening blat soon, so keep an eye on the local events section and hopefully we can get you in the passenger seat of one or two cars.

Hi Nick. Have  you considered buying a part built Westie or an unfinished project? They are out there if you know where to look. The beauty of this route being that you can have some say in the final finish and spec of the car. And they are generally cheaper than the completed cars. Mine cost me just under 2 grand last year ( and it's a nice little project for the kids to help tinker with).
