It gives a “clingy” coating, that helps stop moisture and other nasties getting to the surface of the item being protected. The idea is you just leave it on over the weather period you’re trying to protect things from, topping up with a bit more as necessary. Parts can look quite shabby and mucky by spring, with all the crud stuck to it, but a good clean off leaves the surface below looking as good as it did before treatment. 2 Quote
