jeff oakley Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 It is the problem with most things now in TV land, it is run by young somethings who see a formula and then copy over and over again. So all car shows now need to be a set formula, it goes like this, Find a car, Set a plan which must include a ridiculous time frame. Set about doing the car but this must include small detail on what is actually done and how they can find rare bits in an afternoon. Thrown in a sense of impending doom, paint wrong etc Finally finish it just in the nick of time with teary ends, or successfully waving cash around with a "fake "profit. It is telling that when WD started they had a production team of three, now it is 40, that is what is wrong too many hangers on which pushes up production costs. What made WD special was the time taken in the garage, Edd taking time to show how simple things could be done by average people. For the Love Of cars already had elements of the formula so Ant probably will fit in better with the way the show is going. Just imagine how project Binkey would look if a proper TV production company was running it, it would be nothing like it is now and would be much worse for it. 1 Quote
