Many electric door / gate operators have the option to have a backup battery connected to them or built-in. Instead of trying to create a constant mains supply the battery is dedicated to supplying the gate's control circuit and motor so can be much smaller and cheaper than a UPS would be, and can probably provide much longer backup time. Worth talking with the gate's supplier about what options are available.
