Yanto Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 SEight goes on Saturday, garage will be empty, need money for other things = withdrawal symptoms I need a crossflow in my life..... 2 Quote
Thrustyjust Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Why a crossflow Ian ? It will ruin the garage floor with oil leaks . I've sold cars I didnt want to in the past and after a couple of weeks pacing the garage thinking what have I done, thoughts move on. although it took me 10 years to get back into a Westie, I got there in the end. 1 Quote
Yanto Posted February 21, 2017 Author Posted February 21, 2017 I like the smell of crossflow oil in the morning, seriously though i will get over it I'm sure, but if I did buy within the next year or so I don't think I will be able to afford anything other than a crossflow powered car. Quote
andy665 Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 At least you know the Seight will be coming to a good home and will absolutely be remaining within the club 2 Quote

Just buy a car thats engine and box less and then fettle and twiddle . Then get a box and engine and stick it in and go. They do come up occasionally. Quote
andy665 Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 I found my old Westfield up for sale in Cheshire (Whitchurch) at the weekend - complete car less engine and box (had a Lotus Twincam fitted when I had it) - could be had for 4.5k Quote
andy665 Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Not sure, desperately trying to find the advert again. When I had the car it was perfect, clamshell wings, maroon with tan interior and hood, truly beautiful car - this was about 13 years ago though Found it https://racecarsdirect.com/Advert/Details/79491/1991-low-mileage-westfield-sei-rolling-chasis Quote
Yanto Posted February 21, 2017 Author Posted February 21, 2017 yes buying a rolling chassis or one with a knackered engine was one thought I'd had. But as we all know these "cheap" projects usually turn into something costing more than buying a decent runner in the first place. Quote
SootySport Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Thought you changed your mimd about selling? Quote
