DamperMan Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 I've never had problems sleeping... it's simple I close my eyes... wake up 8 hours later unless an alarm goes off.. even then I can return to sleep. I did dry Jan. I have done for 3 years. It helps break the habit of returning from work and simply walking to the fridge for a nice cold beer. So each time I've had a drink since I've woke up mega early feeling it's time to get up. And then had a dull headache all day.. so Friday I had 3 cobras with my curry. Woke at 3:30.... last night 1 with a Toby carvery at 6 and then 3 German weizenbiers before 9. 3:45 and I have been awake. I actually feel like my body is full of toxins.. bl**** annoying! It feels like my livers saying no!!! Don't do it... Quote
John K Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Sorry to hear your sleeping is b*******ed up, if it carries on for a while it can be quite debilitating. I think you're struggling with the change from dry to wet... By most standards you wouldn't start drinking aged 16 by necking 10 units in a day. Perhaps just 2 (so a pint) Perhaps you've just started again a bit to heavily. Stick with 2 pints for a bit. TBH thats why I've never done a dry period, I know I will start again and dont want the 'shock' Again good luck on getting the sleeping sorted. And I know you are normally supposed to be given advice how to STOP drinking, not start. But if kept in moderation there are plenty worse vices. Like owning a Westie... Quote
SootySport Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Everything in moderation is perfect. Stay ofthe chemically laden lagers and you'll feel better. 1 Quote
DamperMan Posted February 15, 2017 Author Posted February 15, 2017 The last German beer fail was sad, 100% pure under german purity laws for Weizenbier. The wine night was probably full of antifreeze and sulfates in my chat-nuf-du-pape (christmas present), The cobra night, no idea what is in a UK brewed Indian beer. But the German stuff is just Wheat, water, hops and yeast. Although maybe the Ex VW engineers have changed companies and it actually contains non of the ingredients unless its a bottle being sent to be tested. I fancied a glass of wine last night and just could not face having one. I'm not desperate to drink its just annoying that its become an issue. I'll need to put a little practice in before going to Germany for Technoclassica or it will be a very sad affair. Quote
