CL290005 Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 New kit ordered After completing my Ecoboost westfield project, I decided to look for something a bit different, I will be keeping my Westfield. So my question is would our Westfield members like to follow my build of my Jaguar C type, I thought I would ask first as this is a Westfield forum, if so I will look at making a blog on here Look forward to your responses Chris 2 Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Yes, please post it up. I enjoy reading about alternative projects. Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Oh, yes please! Always interested to see new and different stuff. Quote
CL290005 Posted February 7, 2017 Author Posted February 7, 2017 Cheers thanks for support I thought best to ask first Quote
Thrustyjust Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Without a doubt, yes. Will be great. Used to play Jags at a mates, with his dads Kougar kit , which he still races and also building a V12 Daytona and stripping V12's out of very rusty old jags as donors. Quote
SootySport Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Oh yes! Jaguar nut here as well. Another Essex Jaguar nut is Kenny P, he'll be interested as well. Quote
CL290005 Posted February 7, 2017 Author Posted February 7, 2017 Not sure if I'm doing it correct but I started a blog or I think I have, first time I've tied this, if you think it would be better in a discussion area then please advise hope you like the introduction with a taster photo, that will be my finished colour Quote
XTR2Turbo Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 yes yes . I am enjoying the XI builds because they are also a bit different Quote
CL290005 Posted February 7, 2017 Author Posted February 7, 2017 Yes I thought about the XI but wanted something even more different and good power that I can use to drive down to Le Mans classic and Spa Quote
Rory's Dad Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Ron Siddall who lives near Rotherham built a beautiful C Type and made it an actual reproduction of an existing car. He/I wrote it up in a Yorkshire entry in the magazine a few years ago. Ron is maybe a lifetime member having been instrumental in getting the WSCC going in Yorkshire 25 years ago. Oh and he was club chairman too IIRC! He's also on Facebook. Quote
CL290005 Posted February 8, 2017 Author Posted February 8, 2017 Will have to look back in my old copies, I found the write up, this is the same kit supplier I am using, the only difference will be my intention is I intend to try and give mine a more modern/reliable drive using the Supra box, electric power steering and injected Quote
Steve (sdh2903) Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Are you using the donor engine or something else? An ecoboost in a c type? It would drive the purists mad Looking forward to seeing this progress. Quote
CL290005 Posted February 8, 2017 Author Posted February 8, 2017 No it's the 4.2 straight 6 I want it to look authentic well as much as possible you won't fool the jaguar purists I've started a blog on it not sure if it's better to do a blog or a threading I will update it to where I am Quote
