jeff oakley Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Also add my hopes you get the right treatment and get well soon. It seems more shocking as I thought you were a lumberjack and spent all your time in the outdoors and always looked fit, in a manly way I might add! Quote
alexander72 Posted February 3, 2017 Author Posted February 3, 2017 Yeah I know Jeff, I am under investigation for mesothelioma - asbestos lung.... cant really defend against that buddy. Its quite a nasty condition to be honest. It wont be about getting well but about making the most of my remaining lung capacity. I spent years working in waste management and agriculture so its not recent tree work. Keep well yourself Jeff mate Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 A crap hand to be dealt, especially after previous health scares. You've just got to focus on what's important to you and your family, and pack as much in while you can. As you say, management is better now than in the old days, but sadly there's no magic bullet. Strangely though, I know people for whom that knowledge has actually been a help; no time wasted chasing false promises of magic remedies that didn't exist, just an oportunity to spend time building memories and doing the things we always promise ourselves we'd get round to. 1 Quote
alexander72 Posted February 4, 2017 Author Posted February 4, 2017 Wise words Gadgetman... just what i would expect and enjoy from you mate. I'm fine to be honest (at the moment) but my mind is not 100% "on it" for high speed events. I wont be a stranger and will be making many more memories over the coming (many) years I hope... 2 Quote
