Northwarks Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 Have to say I've used heatsinks in the past to cool gadgets but never covering a sump ..... http://legacybp5.fc2web.com/sotomawari/shinku/shinku.htm renders one speachless Quote
SootySport Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Now don't let this give you ideas, we have sump clearance issues on our Westfields. Quote
Simon Marks. Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Hi, When I used to rally a BMW 2002Tii (very nearly 30 years ago), I used to go to a really good guy in Cheltenham for advice / bits. Dave Brunsdon had a very highly developed 2002Tii racing car and he modified the diff unit by fitting a cast iron rear cover plate to which he had welded fins just like a motorcycle cylinder head. It solved the overheating issues that had come with the ever increasing power and larger, stickier tyres. Much easier than fitting a cooler and pump as was becoming the norm with M3s at the time!
