The pub is open at 10 am, we are to park at the back and they will open the back door to let us in.

Yes, park in the back carpark, and hopefully the door will be open. Not actually spoken to them, but someone from the pub commented on the facebook page and said they would open up for us. I'll be there for 10:00.

Boy o Boy.

Its cold and thick ice here.

The morning certainly has a bite to it.

Drive carefully everyone and see you all soon.

What time do you think you'll hit the A166? Not made my mind up yet but would head up the A19, fill up at Escrick, then round the 64 and find a layby. It's still very icy though.

Been away for the last few days ... come back and Roary isn't starting so I won't be there this morning.

we'll be leaving the fox and grapes about 11, so should be on the A166 about half an hour later

Hi Qwerty.

We were parked up on Sands Lane but everyone is making their way home again now

I parked on Royal Crescent, not far away. What time did you get on to the A166 as I waited until 11:50? (Was there from 11:30) Was a nice run out anyway.

We went up Garrowby Hill around 11.00 to 11.15am so we would have passed by the time you got there.

Its a shame that we missed you.

When we are out though we don't check the forum as a rule so its better to message before everyone sets off.

When I looked out of the window at 7 o'clock this morning I thought "That looks a bit cold, should I stop in bed?" But I couldn't let you all down. So after scraping the ice off my wife's KA, I got the Westfield out and went for some fuel. Picked my Brother-in-law up and headed for the Fox and Grapes. Julie, Glen. Martin and Sue were waiting as Marcus and brother Axel pulled in in front of us, Roger, Judy and Geoffery joined us and made 6 cars, not a bad turn out for a cold, frosty morning. The pub had kindly opened up so in we went for a coffee before setting off. Instead of hitting the A64 straight away, we headed through Barwick and into Garforth for a fuel stop at Tesco, then on passed the Battle of Towton and joining York road at Tadcaster where traffic started to get heavy, luckily for us most cars turned off for the Designer Outlet sales leaving us to hit the A166 through Stamford Bridge. We ended up following probably the most law abiding Volvo in the world, but I decided not to try to pass as it would be easier to keep the 6 cars together on the winding roads. The Volvo nearly stopped at the bottom of Garrowby Hill, but the surprised us all by passing an even slower moving van, that didn't slow us down, as we needed an unscheduled toilet stop before we hit Bridlington. Driving towards the seafront and it was busier than I was expecting and I was thinking we wouldn't get parked together, but then I saw an open space of about 8 places, so I grabbed them and we all got parked together. Some then disappeared to the nearest loo, and some to the fish shop. After some food Geoffery led us through his old stomping ground and to the petrol station. We all filled up and headed our separate ways home, me and Marcus retracing our route. Heading home we were driving straight into the sun, and the wipers were just smearing the road muck all over the 'sceen, so visibility wasn't too good but we made it home.

My camera keeps eating batteries, so I only managed to get a couple of photos, so here they are,

And thanks to all who came today.

Thank you Robin for leading us into Brid on the scenic route, it has been a lovely day out and great to catch up with everyone. Cold? oh yes, but worth it.

Great to see Geoffrey back on action

And good to see that it wasn't too cold for a lay down underneath the car

See you all again soon, Glen and Julie
