Thrustyjust Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 So, the XC60 needed some new winter tyres today. I pop down to the local place and wait for them to be fitted. An attractive lady walks in and we chat about the cold . Said I just been outside looking at cars this morning freezing myself and bought a new Skoda. She then said her husbands got a Bugatti Veyron and a Ferrari FF and 'when they go out in the helicopter' . And she's down the tyre place rather than the butler I thought a Westie would be small change , when she said her husband just lost 60k depreciation on a car he recently sold. Apparently the tyre bloke said he would never go in her husbands cars , if her husband was driving, so then didnt doubt he owned the cars......... I'll stick with Mrs TJ , as she seemed happy with her new next week Skoda Ciytgo Quote

Thrustyjust Posted November 19, 2016 Author Posted November 19, 2016 She wasnt gloating about it, we just started a conversation and it rolled into it. I just said good luck with servicing costs on them all !! She said the helicopter needed a rotor part recently at over 6 grand.......... Quote

Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 Almost, but not quite, all the flash gits I know aren't particularly wealthy. Though you're right, I don't think any are particularly happy, as they're never satisfied. However most of the Hyper car owners I know are decent, fairly down to earth types, nice people in fact, in their private lives, at least. No doubt you'd see a seeperate side to them in business. Of the two Veyron owners I know, one would be just one of the lads, down the pub, if you didn't know him. (The other, er, no, not saying anything further in print.) The only private jet owner I know is actually a happy family man. Though I wouldn't want to cross him! Quote
