tisme Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 Carbon wrap? you could probably do it with some form of "dip" system but not sure how robust it'd be but me thinks how much weight you could save if it was real carbon - strength issues notwithstanding (which it probably wouldn't ) Quote
Quinten Posted November 17, 2016 Author Posted November 17, 2016 £50 at a local (to work) powder coater... Let's see the result next week Quote
Quinten Posted November 26, 2016 Author Posted November 26, 2016 Got the rollbar back yesterday (after they called me to say that after inspection they found some imperfections which had to be corrected, pretty decent service!) and it looks pretty good for a £50 job The only unfortunate thing is that I left the rose joints on the bar and the oven has cooked the rubbers on them, so I need to replace these (the rose joints). Does anyone know the dimensions/type of these? I'm thinking they are nothing special? Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 I bought a set of these, plus new Nylock nuts: "1/2" x 1/2" ROSE JOINT Ultra High Performance Male RH Rod End McGill Motorsports" Note, that I think I recall someone saying you can now get the joints in a 7/16" throat, that way you don't need the reducer sleeves... 1 Quote

garytipping Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Hi Quinten, I've just been to both Competition Supplies and Trident Racing Supplies, at Silverstone Circuit. They both stock rose joints, and lots of other goodies!! Cheers Gary 1 Quote
Quinten Posted November 28, 2016 Author Posted November 28, 2016 No bother Gary, I got two from McGills I could only get one of the reducer sleeves out, so called Westfield this morning inquiring about them and see if they were available. Sure she says, they are £1.88 a pair... Great!... and £3 postage Ah well, my mistake, my wallet Quote
