Unwanted Guest...

My brother in law was unloading a vessel in Aberdeen this afternoon that came from Africa and a special guest appeared, as first they thought it was a bit of fun, but when it turned on them it was a different story….

Turns out it was highly venomous and took it away with a police escort to edinburgh...

looks like it could be a eastern green manba  or it could be a boomslang but as it was on a  boat it could be a green water snake (they like damp areas and i think are harmless)  but which ever one it is i wouldn't want to mess with it

As much as i do like snakes I wouldn't want to meet one not knowing what it was and how fast I have to run.

Mind you even when you know what they are they can turn funny as I found out last year when i caught a grass snake that was having a bad time in the waves off Aldeburgh last year, as soon as i got it on the beach the blooming thing turned on me and savaged a finger.

Speaking of snakes, did anyone see the iguana vs snakes on planet earth the other night?

Snakes hunting in packs, it was like something out of a horror movie. It would have been interesting to see the camera crews, I would not wanted to venture into that area.

Crikey, they could have moved it to London near the antidote, but understand why. A local shop to us bred certain reptiles and ( although now sadly closed, not sure if it bit him!) he had a rattle snake in a double vivarium. Looked a nasty piece of work and wouldnt want to contemplate it getting out. He grows crocs and other reptiles for the zoos. Shame he's gone, as it used to be a freebee zoo visit when we used to pop in and see what he was looking after.

This is why he's gone!  I often wonder whether pet shops should charge admission.
