I could do with a proper o ring seal for standard crankshaft sensor.

The o ring. Wasn't aware there was a spacer.

Aha. If you have a metal sensor this is what you need:

 

 

If there is a leak the chances are that the black bit is missing.

I have a plastic sensor that has a step in it, substitute for the spacer? Not sure definately missing the o ring though
