Ianboom Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 I've bought a really clean Westfield dash and crash pad, unfortunately, it has the rectangular horizontal cut out (22mm x 43mm) on the right hand side of the steering wheel for the hazard light switch. I'm after one of these in as good a condition as possible, unless anybody knows where they can be bought new? Or even a similar switch that fits as I still have to wire the dash up. Thanks Ian
Ianboom Posted October 28, 2016 Author Posted October 28, 2016 CBS are 18mm x 36mm, not sure how well they fit. Does it matter that the hazard logo is 90 degrees out?
B.RAD Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Think I've got one Ian, let me check later and will come back to you
Olliebeak Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 I got one from WSC ,I broke mine moving it on the dash and the switch from WSC was the only one that matched the plug in wiring socket, the part number is 4932012 £22.49 inc vat and postage. I wasted money on two switches from other suppliers which wouldnt fit or work. 1
KugaWestie Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 I think this might be the one http://www.europaspares.com/auto-electrical/switches/rocker-switches/swf-rocker-switches.html
Ianboom Posted October 28, 2016 Author Posted October 28, 2016 I think this might be the one http://www.europaspares.com/auto-electrical/switches/rocker-switches/swf-rocker-switches.html Link comes up with an error?
Terryathome Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 if the hole it's on the right could this be for indicators. I would expect the harzard switch to be vertical as not a lot of horizontal hazard switches about other from old VW or a tractor cos that's all I could finD for you.
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Westfield use an unusual (horizontal) rocker switch, just to the right of the wheel. It's unusual as it does an odd route/re-route job with the ignition on and off to get the appropriate flashing signal to the lights. (It's also why the wiring can get a bit funky for those changing to Savage switches etc)
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 This is the Switch they've used for the past fifteen/twenty odd years: It looks in reasonably good condition, if you want it, just drop me a pm with where to send it and I'll stick it in a Jiffy bag for you.
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 It's a Britax supplied (SWF badged) part number 511.190 with the hazard symbol uncoiled and turned through ninety degrees to suit the Westfield mounting. if you want to try and source a new one. For what it's worth though, after a quick Google, I can find it in Britax trade catalogues, but very, very few instances in anything other than trade suppliers to industry. If you know anyone that works for a truck/coach/psv builder they might be able to get one... otherwise, it's the factory or second hand, I suspect.
Stu Faulkner Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 I have one as well, brand new and never fitted so you now have a choice of two. It came with my kit and I ended up fitting savage switches so its never been used.
