According to my source at Volkswagen, this just means that engines will have to have zero emissions by 2030, and the current Golf has already been made to comply :d

After the emissions debacle and lawsuits I guess testing will very soon have to done independently of manufacturers as too many times, ways around the test have been used.

As with very dubious Mpg figures, which manufacturers quote in sales blurb, the consumption is sometimes achieved with parts removed (ie. wing mirrors, seats and even the brakes as not needed on a rolling road) and doors taped up-----just the way I use my car then?!

From what I have read it seems larger engines like 2.0 ltr can be made to meet new regs. but smaller diesels are likely to disappear.
