Down the tunnel

I have aquired an alloy clutch and passenger footrest, has anyone attempted to drill and screw down near the pedals without dismantling the area around the scuttle. I was thinking about removing the drivers seat which may provide easier access, incidentally if I remove the seat runners and bolt it directly to the floor will this provide more clearance between the wheel and my knees?

At some point in everyones Westfield ownership they have to be wielding a spanner head first in a foot well with their legs over the roll bar. It is surprisingly comfortable. Just getting in to and out of that position is the problem!

It's much easier to get upside down with the seats out. I had to get the wife to help me up once I was in though. Just make sure you have a helper to pass you tools and make sniggering remarks and you'll be fine

Thanks for the advice, I am 6FT2" and past pension age so not as flexible as I once was, if I get down the tunnel I may not get out. I was planning to sorn the car at the end of October I will take the seats out then. The car is in a lock up,  If things go badly I may not be discovered until next spring!
