westy Posted January 22, 2003 Author Posted January 22, 2003 Windows Media player should of been able to play the clip But you might have to download a new version of it so all the codecs come with it Suggest when you try to download the elise clip do a right click on the link and 'save target as' that way you can have a fiddle with the file offline to get it to work. The Lancer clip that Mr Rock found after scanning my directories was originally posted up here Quote
Graham.J Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Well for those who can't managed to download, the elise video, I've managed a few still so you can get a rough image of what happened: I hate downloading video's on 56k, takes an age. Quote
westy Posted January 22, 2003 Author Posted January 22, 2003 good one Graham.... 'And will it be purely social and domestic use of the car sir?' Quote
Graham.J Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 I wanna know what happened to that Lancer driver, anyone know if he was ok? I wonder what was going through Matt's mind when he saw the gate posts, then was looking where he'd just come from, prrrp Quote
peterg Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 'And will it be purely social and domestic use of the car sir Long long ago when I'd just left school I briefly worked for an insurance brokers and the correct term for it was Social, Domestic & Pleasure I think that DEFINITELY comes under PLEASURE I wanna know what happened to that Lancer driver, anyone know if he was ok b*******, you've got me worried now, I'll have to try and download the whole thing to see what happened later Quote
BobM Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 I wanna know what happened to that Lancer driver, anyone know if he was ok? Apparently he was a driving instructor. I heard he suffered a broken arm along with the usual minor stuff. I've got the 16 meg version ... it's been discussed several times over on the Lancer Register Forum. Quote
JonnyBoy Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 I assumed the Lancer driver was taking a punter round the track too.....the woman walking away owards the end... anyone know if that was the case? I was in awe at the start of that clip..............oops Quote
Westfields Rock On Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 hmmmmmmmmmmm maybe i could make a cd of a few racing videos people, with 56k, order for a few little pounds. Quote
Graham.J Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 It certainly did look like he was taking a punter around the track. I'll have to have a peek at the lancer forum. Oh PeterG, glad to see you have pictures of the beast in action Quote
ricdiggle Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Great Videos. The Elise looked to me like it was done on purpose though! The way he accelerates off at the end suggests that he wasn't s***ting in his pants and crying like I would have been. The Lancer video was great too. Looked a bit painful mind you! Richard. Quote
furtive Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 I can assure you that Matt didn't take his Elise through that gate backwards on purpose. He did however finish the session before returning to the pits for a change of underwear. He was described as being like a pint of beer. White on top and brown down below. Quote
silverelise Posted January 26, 2003 Posted January 26, 2003 It always amazes me how this clip dies a death for a bit then turns up somewhere on the net. Yes it was a fluke, no I am not a driving god, yes I was lucky not to kill myself and yes I managed to finish the session (15 mins) after that small moment but it did take me about that long again to get out of the car. I was laughing, everyone else was laughing, the marshalls had heart attacks and the paramedics were breathing a huge sigh of relief. Having done lots of 360's on airfield days before then the car was already in 2nd gear before I went through the gate. Once I'd opened my eyes and realised I hadn't killed myself I dropped the clutch and drove off in an effort to look like I'd meant it. The initial oversteer was caused by a missed down change from 4th to 3rd at ~80mph putting me wide to the right on the left hander onto some loose gravel on the perimeter road which caused the back to come round. Blatman Posted January 27, 2003 Posted January 27, 2003 Having done lots of 360's on airfield days before then Sounds to me like you should've caught it really..... Quote
Jan Coombes Posted January 27, 2003 Posted January 27, 2003 Did someone say Fluke Did someone say Steak, lol Oooh Mr Danels a post on a westfield site what will you freinds say. The MR2 one is pure US class. God I hope Nick M doesn't go the way of the numpy driver, now he is in the Muppet land. Quote
