DickieB Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 And for those of us who have a normal BT phone line and are lucky if we get 2 Kb per second - a brief summary would be?? Quote
peterg Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 seconded DickieB! I was going to post a comment and then my line went down AGAIN! I've asked about ADSL but BT don't reckon a little village like ours rates it for quite a while yet and don't even ask about cable providers...I'll be dead before they get out here Quote
Westfields Rock On Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr im only getting 34kb/sec Quote
westy Posted January 21, 2003 Author Posted January 21, 2003 seconded DickieB! Don’t do what a friend did though, order ISDN, pay for a surf time package, use it for a few weeks downloading naughty stuff all day and then get a bill from BT for over a £1000. Reason was he didn’t check what number it was dialling out and was continually dialling/dropping connection to a local rate number Quote
Westfields Rock On Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 LOL, what a dumb ass!!! I wonder wher in FL it was may have to visit! LOL, he didnt even move the steering wheel. I tell ya these yankydoodles cant drive. Quote

DavidC Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 What the he|| was going on with that MR2....seriously, how can you get ANYTIHNG that wrong?? Quote
peterg Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 .......even worse, had to get up very early (Missus has to be in Leeds for a morning meeting, well, it's only 250 miles away) so thought I'd try getting the Elise clip again and after 12 minutes watching Windows Media Player download the file it finally came up with 'Cannot play video stream - no suitable decompressor available" For those that, like me, are "linespeed constrained" I managed to get the first 15secs or so of the MR2 clip to display (can't imagine what the other minute and a half is for) and basically the guy in a mkII MR2 does a standing start on what I presume to be a two lane urban US street and for some reason the car crosses the road and goes up a 2 foot ish high bank and lands in a car park! As I don't have sound either I can't tell if he backs off the throttle but by the looks of it he doesn't and he certainly doesn't steer it at all ......as has been said HOW CAN HE NOT DO ANYTHING TO STOP IT HAPPENING!? Quote
peterg Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Wrox...re: the Lancer100 clip I managed to watch the first 30 secs - I think Autocar should get him for their Sideways Challenge although my guess is he is probably a professional driver anyway judging by the way he holds it all the way through a bend!
