Air filter for Throttle bodies with base plate

Recommended Posts

After being at the dyno, and seeing(and hearing) my car without the "bazooka" airbox on it, I've decided that will look (and sound) much better wihtout the airbox.

Is any foam filter new/in good condition with the base playe laying around any garage?

Cheers.

Many, many options I'm afraid Maurici! Check ITG for the details. But ideally you need to know length and inside height as a minimum, then possibly need a custom cut back plate to suit the spacing of your throttle bodies.

If you have fairly standard throttle bodies and trumpet lengths you might simply get away with saying "filter and backplate for Jenvey Vauxhall redtop" for example.

I naively bought an ITG filter I thought was the same as mine, turns out it wasn't and then I went on their website and saw how many options there are, oops.

I only want a filter... :(

That's a bit like saying you need a water pump for your road car but not telling us the make, model, year or engine size ;) haha

Well... A FOAM filter... :). Ok. In that case Will Be better to buy from the shelf of ITG/jenvey/whatever...

:d

Whether you buy off the shelf, or second hand, you'll still need to know the same things.

There's every chance some one will have one, but as said, what type of throttle bodies? Jenvey SF's have a different spacing for the inlet runners to Jenvey DCOE style, so the holes in the back plates are in different positions. Equally, if you have 50's, the holes will need to be bigger than a back plate for 45's.

The filter itself will need to clear the trumpets, plus some extra clearance, so if you have 90mm trumpets, a different filter is required compared to 120mm trumpets...

Yes Daves, (both). I know all that, I was only joking.

Just wondering what is laying on the garage of the people before taking againd the airbox out, that is a pain to measure everything...

If there is no air filter available, no mather the size and so...

Or, you can ask adam. :)

Are they parallel DCOE style, or the individual SF's?

(Not trying to be a pain, just not wanting to pull a load of boxes out of the garage rafters to get at mine, if it's the wrong sort!)

Definitely not DCOE, so I would guess the second... They're like this:
