Degrees used to be how we identified the brightest (academically) now that everybody has gotten them, how do we spot the next rocket scientists. It's happening everywhere, even to NASA who seem now to be employing dumb asses with degrees... I can't believe my Gold Standard of Engineer (side burns, pipe, vest, slide rule and a pocket full of pencils) would have allowed a team to mix up imperial and metric units and therefore stuff a $100 million satellite into Mars. When I were a kid, an 'A' at GCSE was a big thing. Now so many of our special little darlings are getting A's that we now seem to have an A*. I guess the education authority doesn't have the funds to fight all the emotional trauma cases where Benjemamima only got a B Wow...
